Lidding Peel Force Fixture for measuring average and peak force to remove lidding stock from plastic cups. Measure the force required to open cups by pulling the lidding top from the package.

Fixture is customized to hold two sizes of cups, 75 mm diameter and 100 mm diameter; cups are held in the fixture with a vacuum system. Adjustable angle provides lidding-pull angles from horizontal to 45 degrees from horizontal. Two position, set at either 90 degree or 45 degree angle from vertical. 75 mm diameter cup Fixture shown in photo above left; 100 mm diameter cup Fixture shown in inset photo above (lower) right. Unique pneumatic grip allows securing edge of lidding stock, and effectively holding the lid during the pull force test cycle. Grip shown in photo at right.
