Rugged & cost-effective, the PC Software-controlled Model DE-1600-SS Digital Elmendorf
Tear Tester provides accurate tear resistance values of paper & plastic films with
resolution to 0.1 gram; accuracy to +/- 0.2% or better. The DE-1600-SS includes
a Solid-style Pendulum available in medium to high capacities including the base
1600 gram capacity, with 3200 gram, and 6400 gram Add-Weights for additional measurement
capacities from a single pendulum. Meets ASTM D-1922, TAPPI T-414 and ISO 1974.
Software-driven tear resistance measurement couldn’t be simpler. The Model DE-1600-SS
utilizes a precision rotary encoder, pneumatic-assist sample clamps and pendulum
release, an integral sample pre-cut knife, and an easy-to-use PC-based software package
with an interface designed to enhance any quality control department. The console
front panel interface includes an overlay with CLAMP and TEST buttons for on-instrument
test start sequences (shown in photo top-right) if desired.
Rugged and cost-effective, the Series DE-1600 Digital Elmendorf product line from
Oakland can provide accurate measurement of tear resistance of paper, fabrics, sheet
materials, and plastic films. Simple and flexible design offers medium to high pendulum
capacity changes using Add-Weights and a Single Solid Pendulum. Our DE-0200 Series
offers low to medium pendulum capacity testing, up to 1600 grams of tear force, also
using Add-Weights but with a Framework Pendulum.
Statistics are reported on the easy-to-use software interface, with full tear resistance
data reporting, charting, and export capability with our Model DX-8300 Impact & Tear
