Used to establish quality standards for resistance to impact surface damage and penetration
of sheet materials, the Model IM-5513 is a heavy-duty impact tester produced in cooperation
with the Society of the Plastic Industry (SPI) for evaluating the impact resistance
of rigid sheets of PVC (30 - 60 mils thickness) and other plastics and materials
exceeding the 160 inch-lb limit of the Heavy Duty Impact Tester models IG-1120 and
IG-1121.
The IM-5513 has a 102 cm (40 inch) graduated guide tube, a lower support die with
a 16.3 mm (0.640 in.) hole diameter, a 12.7 mm (0.500 in.) dia. round-nosed punch,
plus an 8 lb weight offering impact forces of up to 320 inch-lbs.
